Lian gong exercise to favor the joint mobility of the elderly people
Main Article Content
Abstract
Aging is a process where structural and functional changes occur, one of its consequences is the loss of joint mobility. Its excessive decrease can cause the inability to perform daily life activities by itself, so it is proposed to develop methodological adaptations to traditional therapeutic exercises to contribute to the joint mobility of the older adult through physical activity programs. The research has a prospective, pre-experimental and quantitative character in a sample conformed by 18 longevous between 60 and 75 years old, selected in a random way. The application of the statistical methods, verified that there is a difference between the measurements in the studied cases (p<0.05), except
the retroversion of the hip, dorsal and plantar flexion of the foot. In the flexibility test, it was observed an increase from 2 to 7.5 cm in the measurements made in 77.8% of the sample, which allows affirming the positive effect of the practice, by delaying the normal deterioration produced by aging.
