Selection of school taekwondo talents according to explosive strength levels
Main Article Content
Abstract
Introduction: In taekwondo there is a predominance of explosive techniques, so it is necessary to know the level of development of this ability as a fundamental premise when selecting talents for this discipline. Although explosive strength does not determine potential talent by itself, it is a factor to be taken into consideration. However, theoretical-methodological deficiencies were detected in sports practice.
Objective: to determine the levels of explosive strength in school taekwondo athletes to select sports talents.
Materials and methods: The analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive methods were used as theoretical methods of scientific research. Of the empirical methods, documentary analysis, survey and measurement. As mathematical-statistical methods, descriptive statistics, with the mean and standard deviation. Results: The long jump test without a push-off run was applied to 10 taekwondo athletes. Once the individual result was obtained, the group mean and standard deviation were found to determine the levels to which each of them corresponded.
Conclusions: By determining the levels of performance of the taekwondo athletes' results, the coach has the corresponding values to set goals regarding the work and assimilation of the loads of his athletes.
